FAQ

Hi, I'm Abrieel — a 29-year-old first-time mom, singer, model, creative entrepreneur, and multidisciplinary artist born in Oakland and raised in Sacramento, California. With a background in graphic design, photography, arts education, and community programming, I founded Girls Who Craft Los Angeles to create a safe, inspiring, and inclusive space where girls and young women can create, connect, and express themselves through art, creativity, and community.

As a young girl, I experienced homelessness and many challenges that shaped my childhood. During those difficult years, art became both an escape and a source of hope. Community organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club and various youth arts programs introduced me to creative expression, mentorship, and art-based healing. These experiences not only helped me navigate adversity but also inspired me to dream beyond my circumstances and discover the power of creativity.

As I grew older, I became passionate about giving back to the communities that helped shape me. I went on to serve as a mentor, youth leader, and art educator, working with local organizations and the YMCA to facilitate workshops, coordinate youth programs, and create meaningful experiences for young people.

Art has always been one of the most important forms of therapy in my life. It has given me a voice, helped me heal, and allowed me to express myself in ways words never could. Through Girls Who Craft Los Angeles, my mission is to empower the next generation of girls and young women by providing creative opportunities that build confidence, foster connection, encourage self-expression, and remind them that their stories, ideas, and voices matter.
